Canajurê Beach is one of the hidden treasures of Santa Catarina Island, located in the northern region of Florianópolis.
This beach is located between the famous Canasvieiras beach and Jurerê Tradicional, hence the name canajurê.
With a spectacular view of the North Bay, this beach enchants tourists and locals with its calm, crystal-clear waters, perfect for a refreshing swim.
In this article, we'll explore the history, infrastructure and curiosities of this beach.

History and Origin of the Name Canajurê
The name Canajurê comes from the initials of the neighboring beaches: Canasvieiras and Jurerê.
What's more, this word actually exists in the indigenous Tupi Guarani language and means “toucan's beak”.
This region of Santa Catarina Island was inhabited by the Carijós Indians, who were nomads and lived by fishing, hunting and gathering fruit and roots.
With the arrival of European settlers, the region became economically exploited, mainly for the production of manioc flour, which was exported to other states.

Nautical infrastructure
Canajurê Beach is a small, residential area and therefore doesn't have many tourist services.
However, there are some lodging options and restaurants in the area, as well as markets and bakeries.
The beach is also a starting point for boat trips around the North Bay, which take tourists to other beaches and islands in the region.
There are several marinas and clubs on this beach.

Preservation and small trail between rocks
Canajurê Beach is part of the North Bay Environmental Preservation Area, which aims to protect the region's biodiversity and promote the sustainable use of natural resources.
The resort is surrounded by native Atlantic Forest vegetation, which contributes to the beauty of the place and the preservation of the local fauna and flora.
In short, Canajurê Beach is a beautiful and peaceful option for those looking for a haven close to nature in Florianópolis.
With a simple infrastructure and an area of environmental preservation, the beach offers a unique experience to its visitors.
