Bianca Gismonti shares the stage with Portuguese guitarist Manuel de Oliveira in a duet that intertwines fado, jazz and Brazilian music in an experience of lyricism and improvisation.
Winner of the Carlos Paredes Award 2023 for his album Ibéria 2022 and recognized for transforming the guitar into a space of encounter and depth, the Portuguese guitarist Manuel de Oliveira will be arriving, together with pianist Bianca Gismonti, for a series of eight concerts in Brazil in March.
The duo Manuel de Oliveira and Bianca Gismonti marks a new chapter in the artists' career, when silence becomes landscape and sound becomes an encounter. Guitar and piano breathe together, drawing the moment and revealing deep affinities. Portugal and Brazil cross borders, united by a common language: that of listening, improvisation, polyrhythms and surrender.
"My heart goes out to Brazil for a very special moment: a series of concerts alongside the extraordinary Bianca Gismonti, a pianist of profound sensitivity, whose musical universe carries echoes of a rich and inspiring history.".
A natural crossroads of sounds, memories and new possibilities.
"It will be an intimate and powerful celebration, where music breathes freedom, improvisation and emotion - a meeting that promises to reveal new colors and open up new paths," says Bianca.
The partnership between Manuel de Oliveira and Bianca Gismonti continues to expand and will be taken on tour in Europe in 2026, as well as being transformed into an audiovisual product.
