Praia dos Ingleses, located in the north of the island in Florian\u00f3polis, is one of the most developed seaside resorts in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of the busiest destinations in Santa Catarina, Ingleses beach has a complete infrastructure of banks, hotels and supermarkets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has a large expanse, with a calm sea on one side, ideal for children and the elderly, and strong waves on the other, great for surfing or kitesurfing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sea at Praia dos Ingleses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ingleses is a beach with calm, warm waters, a large tourist infrastructure and a length of around 5km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach has open but sheltered waters in a cove and small islands, with warm blue waters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has a good stretch of fine white sand, which varies from 20 to 60 meters wide (but is being widened).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one of the most famous beaches in the northern region, and locals affectionately call it zinga<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Infrastructure and dunes at Praia dos Ingleses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The beach has a complete infrastructure with bars, restaurants and snack bars that guarantee fun for families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is because it is a more residential beach area, with a higher number of permanent residents, who number over 40,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For leisure activities, as well as surfing and traditional banana boat rides, there are dunes in Ingleses, which are an attraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The smallest of these, which is best known for being on the seafront on the right-hand side of the beach, goes all the way to Praia do Santinho. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The largest dune is over 7 km long and runs all the way to Praia de Mo\u00e7ambique, but it's not easy to spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the dunes, you can rent boards and sandboard or simply play in the sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name and stories of Ingleses beach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Praia dos Ingleses was named after the wreck of an English ship between 1683 and 1737. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These dates were established by analyzing the objects found in the wreck, some of them with dates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1989<\/strong>, This was when a diver found a ceramic jar, which soon became the first clue for historians and archaeologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among them is a relic used for navigation as a Gunther ruler with the inscription \u201c1683\u201d<\/a>, ceramic pots where drinking water and other nautical instruments were kept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to records, the condition in which the boat's rudder was found suggests that there was a fire on board. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truth is that the boat is buried in the sand at depths of around eight meters, more than fifty meters from the beach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get to Praia dos Ingleses<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Praia dos Ingleses is 30 kilometers from the center and can be reached via Avenida Beira-Mar Norte, up the CIC elevated road and along Avenida da Saudade until you reach the SC-401 highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the 4th viaduct, take the SC-403 highway. Follow the signs as the route is usually well signposted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By car<\/strong>
Praia dos Ingleses is in the northeast of Florian\u00f3polis Island, 32 km from the bridge and the center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once over the bridge, stay in one of the two right-hand lanes, heading towards Avenida Beira Mar and Norte da Ilha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just follow the signs towards the north of the island and take the SC-401. Further on there will be a fork on the right, taking the SC-403 to Ingleses beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buses<\/strong>
For those arriving by bus in Florian\u00f3polis, you should go to the Terminal Integrado do Centro (Ticen), which is 400m from the bus station. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to platform C, where the urban buses leave for the Canasvieiras Integrated Terminal (Tican).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you get to Tican, you have to take another bus to the Ingleses neighborhood. You don't have to pay a fare again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uber, 99 or Taxi<\/strong>
Uber or a similar service to Ingleses beach costs around R$ 100 from the airport and R$ 70 from the bus station. It depends on the day and the offer.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
