{"id":366,"date":"2023-03-15T00:53:21","date_gmt":"2023-03-15T00:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/likefloripa.com\/?p=366"},"modified":"2026-02-04T21:46:02","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T00:46:02","slug":"praia-brava-norte-da-ilha-florianopolis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/en\/praia-brava-norte-da-ilha-florianopolis\/","title":{"rendered":"Brava Beach, north of the island - Florian\u00f3polis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Praia Brava, in the far north of the island of Florian\u00f3polis, has its own peculiar characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brava is located between the beaches of Ponta das Canas\/Lagoinha and Ingleses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's considered a noble seaside resort, isolated from the coasts and hills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only access is via Avenida Epit\u00e1cio Bittencourt, which starts at the Ponta das Canas interchange and ends at Brava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, its fixed population does not exceed 1,000 inhabitants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, during the summer season this number can be five times higher, especially during the New Year's Eve and Carnival periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The community is full of luxurious condominiums, a few summer houses, some hotels and inns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the neighborhood has a limited tourist infrastructure, with a few bars and restaurants, a market and a few stores selling various items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/praia-brava-norte-dailha-florianopolis-1024x572.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-519\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/praia-brava-norte-dailha-florianopolis-1024x572.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/praia-brava-norte-dailha-florianopolis-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/praia-brava-norte-dailha-florianopolis-768x429.png 768w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/praia-brava-norte-dailha-florianopolis.png 1146w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Brava Sea<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The sea at Brava is intermediate because it's an open beach with oceanic characteristics, which is why it's popular with surfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has strong, rough waves, hence the name of the beach, with intense undertow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the waters are reasonably cold, crystal clear with high salinity and viscosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">History of Praia Brava<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, in 1979 businessman Nilton Ramos went camping with his children in the area and was enchanted by the beach and envisioned the possibility of a subdivision there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, with the support of the city council, architect Andr\u00e9 Schmidt designed the structure for a prime neighborhood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schmidt was also responsible for the design of the current Cost\u00e3o do Santinho resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1990, three Argentine businessmen built the first condominium called Tres Am\u00e9ricas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"989\" src=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava-300x290.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava-768x742.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Two years later, other condominiums sprang up and tourists began to flock to the resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the beach no longer has land for sale, but it does have several high-end condominiums for rent and purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-369\" width=\"1039\" height=\"1033\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava.jpg 719w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava-300x298.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/brava-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1039px) 100vw, 1039px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to get to Brava beach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Brava beach is 33.7 kilometers from the city center and can be reached via Avenida Beira-Mar Norte, going up the CIC elevated road, following Avenida da Saudade until you reach the SC-401 highway. This highway connects the city center to the beaches of the north of the island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow this highway straight until you reach Canasvieiras beach (Sapines Parque) and then follow Luiz Boiteux Piazza avenue and Epit\u00e1fio Bittencourt avenue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the signs, the route is usually well signposted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"846\" src=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mapa-1024x846.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mapa-1024x846.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mapa-300x248.png 300w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mapa-768x634.png 768w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mapa-1536x1268.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.likefloripa.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/mapa-2048x1691.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By car<\/strong><br>Brava beach is on the northern tip of Florian\u00f3polis Island, 33.7 km from the bridge and the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once over the bridge, stay in one of the two right-hand lanes, heading towards Avenida Beira Mar and Norte da Ilha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just follow the signs to the north of the island and take the SC-401 to Canasvieiras beach and then Luiz Boiteux Piazza avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After it, take Avenida Epit\u00e1cio Bittencourt, which leads to Praia Brava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Buses<\/strong><br>For those arriving by bus in Florian\u00f3polis, you should go to the Terminal Integrado do Centro (Ticen), which is 400m from the bus station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to platform C, where the urban buses leave for the Canasvieiras Integrated Terminal (Tican).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you get to Tican, you have to take another bus to Praia Brava. You don't have to pay for a ticket again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Uber or Taxi<\/strong><br>Uber or a similar service to Brava costs around R$ 120 from the airport and R$ 90 from the bus station.
