Jurer\u00ea Sea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The beach has a complete infrastructure, with restaurants, bars, stores, hotels and high-end resorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The calm sea and stretch of white sand are ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sun, while the bars and restaurants offer a wide variety of dining and partying options during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach is also famous for its warm water in summer and for being a long beach that allows for long walks, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sea has long waves and usually a sliding break, great for stand up paddle, kayaking and even more relaxed and fun surfing, especially for beginners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History of Jurer\u00ea Internacional<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the leisure and entertainment options, Jurer\u00ea Internacional also has a rich history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term Jurer\u00ea comes from the language of the Carij\u00f3s Indians, who named the narrow channel between the island and the mainland Y-Jurer\u00ea-Mirim, meaning Small Water Mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The history of Jurer\u00ea dates back to the colonization period of Santa Catarina Island, when the town was called Ponta Grossa Beach in reference to the geographical formation chosen to locate a military defense point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There, the fortress S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 da Ponta Grossa<\/a>, and the batteries of S\u00e3o Caetano and Nova do Pontal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over time, a community organized itself and developed, dedicating itself to fishing, farming and work related to the fortress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Already more developed as a tourist and summer beach, in 1955 a real estate company called Jurer\u00ea was responsible for the first subdivision plan, which caused strangeness among the local residents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, the community has experienced real estate and urban development impacts that have caused the resort to lose its village character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was designed by architect Jaime Lerner. In 1982, the Habitasul company bought the rights to the area, starting the Jurer\u00ea Internacional project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1984, houses and other developments sprang up in what we now know as Jurer\u00eaInternacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's International in Jurer\u00ea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The main difference between Jurer\u00ea Tradicional and Jurer\u00ea Internacional is the planning and high-end furniture of Jurer\u00ea Internacional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Jurer\u00ea Tradicional is an older neighborhood with a more relaxed, family atmosphere, Jurer\u00ea Internacional is more sophisticated,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite their differences, both have a similar history and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two neighborhoods were founded by Azorean fishermen in the 18th century and still keep alive the traditions and customs of Azorean culture, such as artisanal fishing and the production of handicrafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another curiosity is the famous Jurer\u00ea New Year's Eve, one of the city's hottest parties, which attracts tourists and celebrities from all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no shortage of curiosities about Jurer\u00ea Internacional. The beach was chosen as the setting for the recording of the music video for Christina Aguilera's song \u201cBeautiful\u201d in 2003. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, in 2011, Jurer\u00ea Internacional was visited by Prince Albert II of Monaco, who stayed at one of the resorts in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The island's most popular beach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jurer\u00ea Internacional beach is one of the most famous and popular in Florian\u00f3polis, attracting tourists from Brazil and all over the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a length of around 3 km, the beach is known for its crystal-clear waters, fine white sand and a complete infrastructure with hotels, resorts, bars, restaurants, designer stores and nightclubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jurer\u00ea Tradicional beach is smaller and quieter, with a more family-oriented atmosphere. The beach is surrounded by summer houses and has a good infrastructure, with restaurants, kiosks and local shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the differences, both beaches in Jurer\u00ea are beautiful and offer a unique experience for visitors, whether they are enjoying a day in the sun and sea, practicing water sports or appreciating the local culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get to Jurer\u00ea Internacional<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jurer\u00ea Internacional is 32 kilometers from the city center and can be reached via Avenida Beira-Mar Norte, going up the CIC elevated road, following Avenida da Saudade until you reach the SC-401 highway. This highway connects the city center to the beaches of the north of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow this highway straight and when you pass Santo Ant\u00f4nio, arriving in Ratones, keep an eye out for the elevated road ahead of you; you have to climb it to get to Jurer\u00ea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow the signs, the route is usually well signposted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By car<\/strong>
Jurer\u00ea Internacional beach is located in the north of Florian\u00f3polis Island, 32 km from the bridge and the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once over the bridge, stay in one of the two right-hand lanes, heading towards Avenida Beira Mar and Norte da Ilha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just follow the signs to the north of the island and take the SC-401.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passing Santo Ant\u00f4nio de Lisboa and arriving in Ratones, keep an eye out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use the right-hand lane to take the access ramp to the Jurer\u00ea elevated road. Continue along Rodovia Jornalista Maur\u00edcio Sirotski Sobrinho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smooth left turn onto Rodovia Francisco Arcanjo Grillo and then left again to stay on Rod. Francisco Arcanjo Grillo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take Av. das Lagostas and follow it to the beach or find the location of your choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buses<\/strong>
For those arriving by bus in Florian\u00f3polis, you should go to the Terminal Integrado do Centro (Ticen), which is 400m from the bus station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to platform C, where the city buses leave for the Terminal Integrado deSanto Ant\u00f4nio (Tisan).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you get to Tisan, you have to take another bus, such as Balne\u00e1rio Jurer\u00ea, Jurer\u00ea Internacional or Interpraias. You don't have to pay for a ticket again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uber or Taxi<\/strong>
