Desperate, the young woman fled with her lover, but was pursued by the tribe.

When they reached the beach, they were cornered by the Indians. Before being captured, the couple threw themselves off the rocks and died embraced.

The beach has since been renamed Praia da Solidão in honor of the story.

For a long time, the region was inhabited by Indians and later by Azorean colonists who settled on the island of Santa Catarina.

From the 1970s onwards, the beach began to be frequented by surfers in search of quieter, more secluded waves.

Solitude Trails and Waterfalls

Solidão beach is surrounded by many natural beauties, including the trails and waterfalls that the region has to offer.
