The sea of Canasvieiras
The calm sea of this beach is open to the north and is intermediate between the ocean and the bay.
Its calm, warm waters (between 23 and 26º in summer) and gentle waves are ideal for a day of fun for families with children.
The waves stretch for more than 50 meters on the beach due to the gentle slope of the seabed, giving Canas, the affectionate nickname given to the place, the classification of a shallow beach.
The sand is yellowish to ivory and very good for walking barefoot.
Schooner ride in Canasvieiras
A great leisure option are the scuna trips that leave daily from the Canasvieiras beach pier in the direction of Baia dos Golfinhos for a visit to Anhatomirim Island where the Santa Cruz Fortress, built in the 18th century, is located.
