Florianópolis is not just a little piece of land lost at sea, the island of magic has its biography built by the hands that produced cave art, ceramics, lace, tarrafas and flour.
History is alive in every part of this island land. Our recommendation is that you explore this Magic!
Everything here inspires and exudes narratives, so come with us and discover seven trails in the north of the island that enchant, teach, inspire and amuse those who pass through them.

#1 - RPPN ecological path
Starting at the end of the main access road to Santinho, behind the Costão do Santinho Resort events center, the trail reaches a fork in the road, to one side of which you arrive at the Mozambique dunes, a place that is a real playground for practicing extreme sports, such as sandboarding, for example.
There you can have a picnic and admire the beauty of Floripa's largest beach.
The route takes about an hour and the level of walking is light, so this is fun and has attractions for the whole family.
On the other side of the fork you'll come to the Lavadeiras Lagoon, a real oasis in the middle of the dunes.
The name of the lagoon comes from the story that native women from Santinho used to wash clothes in the lagoon more than 80 years ago. The route takes an average of 20 minutes and is a light walk.

#2 - Mozambique Beach Walk
The trail is well marked and starts behind the Costão do Santinho Resort, linking Santinho beach to Moçambique - it runs along the three cliffs:
- Ponta das Aranhas, Ponta do Lageado and Ponta do Calhau Miúdo - you'll find Praia do Moçambique between slopes and tunnels of vegetation.
Located in the northeastern part of the island, Praia do Moçambique, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and also the longest, covering 12.5 km. Its name comes from the molluscs found there.
The beach is very quiet in terms of population, but the sea is rough and caution is advised when bathing, but it's a great place to relax and enjoy the lovely view.
If you like big waves, this is the beach for you in the north of the island.
The strip of sand on this beach is long and its horizon is vast, the view is enchanting to the eye and from the top of the Morro das Aranhas trail, in addition to seducing the eyes, it makes your look even wilder.
Along the way, you'll come across small streams and swimming pools featuring the small archipelago that makes up Spider Island. This is certainly an itinerary that cannot be left out of your trip.

#3 - Top of Aranhas Hill
If, in the previous tip, you were already excited by the landscape, the hike to the top of the hill of the spiders is an even more exciting adventure - because the closer you get to the summit, 225 meters high, the clearer the panoramic view of Santinho Beach, Ingleses,
Arvoredo and Badejo islands, on the other side you can see Mozambique beach, Barra da Lagoa, Lagoa da Conceição, and the hills of Armação beach.
The hill of the spiders is considered to be the “corner” of the island, with the north end on one side and the east on the other. The trail is covered in Atlantic forest and the whole route is uphill, sometimes quite steep.
The walk begins on the southern shore of Santinho Beach, after passing the rock inscriptions and statues of the Costão do Santinho Archaeological Site.
The path is dirt, with some stretches interspersed with small stones, and there is a predominance of stretches with lots of roots and decaying leaves.
On this trail you will find much more than landscape, native and secondary fauna and flora - because as well as being a heritage preservation area - the trail is an open-air archaeological museum, as it contains endless Paleolithic stories.
On this walk you can see and touch endless rock inscriptions, marks of peoples dating back at least five thousand years of history. This is another story worth checking out ;).

#4 Tour of Spider Hill
This is the most complete trail in the north of the island and you will see all the island's ecosystems, such as the restinga, the Atlantic forest, the dunes, the freshwater lagoon and the beach.
The trail is 4,500 meters long and takes approximately two and a half hours.
The trail is one of the most popular in the region.
The first part, uphill, passes by the Costão, close to the sea. The way back is through the dunes, with a completely different landscape - at one point you come across a small oasis - a lagoon that you can take a dip in.
The contact with nature is immeasurable and the landscapes along the walk are exuberant, there are several points of contact where you can see the sea.

#5 Coastal Dunes
The Santinho Dunes are the main characteristics of a cove beach: mounds of sand deposited and shaped by the action of the wind.
The coastal dunes not only make up the unique landscape of Praia do Santinho, they are also a tourist attraction and a lot of fun.
It covers an area of approximately 91.5 hectares and is listed as one of the island's natural and landscape heritage sites.
There are strips and semi-strips bordering Praia dos Ingleses. In the dunes you can enjoy sports and hiking.
Take a day and enjoy yourself from Santinho to Ingleses. And at the end, take a dip and let the sea wash your soul clean.

#6 Top of English Hill
The Morro dos Ingleses trail starts at the left-hand corner of Praia do Santinho.
It is a medium-difficulty trail, due to the steep slopes at the beginning and end. When you reach the top of the hill, there is a viewpoint made of rocks from where you have a panoramic view of Ingleses and Santinho beaches.
The landscape is unique and the experience is singular. This is certainly an itinerary to keep in your luggage.
And if you've already hiked to the top of the hill of the spiders, how about making a photo montage and getting a full panoramic view of this part of the island?

#7 Brunidores Museum
The Brunidores Museum trail gets its name because there you'll find a multitude of rock art dating back more than five thousand years, and according to scholars it was on these stones that our ancestors built their tools, for fishing, hunting, cooking and so on.
Located on the southern shore of Praia dos Ingleses, in the north of Florianópolis, right next to where the sea is calm, the water is a little warmer, with greenish tones that offer adventurers a unique experience that will delight the eyes.
The museum houses an outstanding archaeological site with a wide variety of rocks carved by the island's ancestral peoples, produced during the daily activity of grinding and sharpening tools and lithic (stone) artifacts.
A worthwhile diversion. At the end of the day you can see the lights of the English center reflected in the sea.
Without a doubt, a landscape to remember.
